Racial Politics were raging in Halifax in the late 1960’s, but in sleepy Lake Loon, it took the arrival of a mysterious man from the U.S.A. to awaken Black Consciousness in the mind of ten-year-old DEANNA SPARKS. Shot in 2012, the conversation has become even more relevant in 2022 as race relations decline within the USA and Black Canadians are forced to reflect once again on the need to stay vigilant. This documentary features several prominent Black Nova Scotian activists, including the late Rocky Jones, El Jones, Walter Borden, Delvina Bernard as well as the returning American Black Panther, Ronald Hill.
